The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have the ability to resolve technical issues with server side web sites and applications. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide technical solutions to eApps Hosting’s customers. This IS NOT a typical Tier I technical support position! You will be expected to apply System Administrator technical skills, and strong analytical skills, to provide solutions to our customer’s problems. This is a challenging position that requires a high level of commitment and flexibility in work hours. You must also have excellent English language skills.

This is a full time job. Our work model is remote home office. You must have a fast, reliable Internet connection and a quiet place to work. From time to time you may be required to travel for company meetings. We run a 24/7 operation. This position will require odd work hours such as evenings and weekends. Candidates that can cover the US Eastern Time zone will be strongly considered for this position.

Job description

You will be responsible for solving technical problems with the customer’s hosting services. In order to succed you must have. The successful candidate will have a reqarding and challenging position, with the opportunity to grow and advance. All of our senior technical staff started as a Tech Support representative.


Linux Operating Systems (CentOS, Ubuntu and/or Debian) Knowledge – Exceptional knowledge of Linux is a must. You must be able to install a Linux server from scratch and configure it on a network. Experience with clustering software and techniques is valued (Pacemaker, Corosync, DRBD, Percona XtraDB Cluster, etc.)

Windows Server Operating Systems (2012 – 2020) Knowledge – Windows Knowledge is required. You must be able to install a Windows server from scratch and configure it on a network.
Solid Networking Foundation – You must have a good understanding of how a public facing network operates. You must understand basic network administration to succeed in this position.

Good Understanding of Internet Protocols – Candidate will understand common protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, IMAP/POP3, and DNS.

Database and Applications Experience – Experience supporting web applications and complex websites is highly valued: Java, PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, MSSQL and PostgreSQL.

Virtualization Technology – experience working with virtualization technologies such as KVM, Virtuozzo and VMware. Experience with Cloud technologies is a plus.

Development Experience – experience in debugging / development in JAVA, PHP and any other language.

DevOps Experience – We work with Ansible mostly, but any kind of experience in this field is welcome.

Shell Scripting – experience is a plus.

PaaS – Experience with Platform as a Service or any other auto-scaling platform is a plus

Server Security – Experience with iptables rules management and the basics of encryption is a plus.


Language Skills – Candidate must be proficient in English, both written and spoken, in a technical environment.

Good Judgment – Successful candidate will be able to judge situations and make decisions quickly.

Great Problem Solving Skills – Your primary responsibility will be to get to the bottom of problems and solve them.
