We are in search of a sharp, creative, and driven team player to oversee the IT infrastructure of Reem Mall in Abu Dhabi. Reem Mall is being developed by Al Farwaniya Property Developments – a partnership between Agility, United Projects for Aviation Services (UPAC), and National Real Estate Company (NREC). It is a $1.2 billion mega mall covering 2.9 million square feet in the Najmat District of Reem Island, and is set out to become a major retail, leisure, and entertainment destination. Reem Mall will bring a wide range of family-focused retail, leisure and entertainment offerings to Abu Dhabi, with 450 customer-centric stores including over 100 food and beverage outlets and a diverse portfolio of edutainment and entertainment anchors.

Role in Brief

The Head of Information Technology is primarily responsible for leading, driving and managing the overall I.T. infrastructure of Reem Mall, ensuring its integrity, optimum performance, and seamless operation throughout the Reem Mall ecosystem and in alignment with the company’s goals to drive technology best practices that will enhance internal and external customer experience and optimize organizational efficiency.

Developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, disaster recovery systems and processes, telecommunications systems as well as overseeing the implementation of several technical & digital projects, all are considered top focus areas for the organization.

Your Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Development

  • Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the executive team
  • Establish service level agreements with business units
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure the protection of IT assets and the integrity, security and privacy of information entrusted to or maintained by the company
  • Lay out, present and get management ratification on the annual IT budget
  • Provide strategic inputs on technological requirements of new projects under development
  • Positively interact and interface with tenants and ensure a smooth integration with our digital innovation program
  • Participate in project planning, daily meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings
  • Maintain a current knowledge of developments in Information Technology relevant to Shopping Mall industry, and initiate and implement solutions that contribute to increase in retail sales

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for infrastructure projects and associated efforts
  • Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services
  • Assist with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures
  • Use technological advancements and new products with innovative ideas to connect with our customers and thereby increase retail sales of our tenants

Operational Management

  • Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, wireless implementations, and so on
  • Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions
  • Define hardware and software standards in conjunction with owners and stakeholders
  • Test server and network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining server and network infrastructure; evaluate and approve system upgrades
  • Manage operational costs; conduct near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base
  • Establish and maintain regular communications with all stakeholders on pertinent infrastructure activities
  • Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation
  • Direct and administrate a contingent of network analysts and technicians, and where necessary, conduct performance reviews and corrective action
  • Steer the project to ensure delivery of business value

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of computer science/information technology, with 10 years’ work experience (or Master’s Degree with 4-5 years of work experience in a similar role)
  • Experience managing and delivering infrastructure design and operational excellence
  • Proven successful leadership of an infrastructure team
  • Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful service level agreement accomplishments

Your Proficiencies

  • Expert knowledge of Database Management and Administration, IT Governance, Software Quality Control, IT Hardware and Network Infrastructure
  • Application support experience with maintaining Azure and AWS built applications
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware
  • Experience in interpreting the applicability of local and federal laws/regulations to company operations
  • Able to bridge communications between the IT organization and its business customers, providing clarity on what the IT organization and its vendors can deliver, and how the deliverables can be measured most effectively
  • Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives coupled with strong customer service orientation
  • Able to manage across organizational boundaries, with a good grasp of drivers and influencers
  • Advanced negotiation skills with interpersonal relationship strengths for managing disputes and influencing stakeholder behaviors
  • Proven leadership abilities and project management skills, and capability to coach the team in reaching their highest potential
  • Ability to make sound and logical judgments and collaborative in driving decisions
  • Creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems
  • Ability to deal with multiple projects and deadlines
  • Applied understanding of business math for various budgeting purposes
  • On-call availability on all days, with occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines
  • Willing to travel for the purpose of offsite team and vendor meetings
  • Language: Arabic & English (written & verbal)
  • Organization skills
  • Basic team leading skills
